JONATHAN CHERRY: What did you want to be growing up?
CATHERINE LOSING: A Botanist or a Vet
JC: Who or what is inspiring you at the moment?
CL: 17th Century Dutch still life paintings, holidays, Ridley Road Market and Spike Jonze music videos from the 1990s.
JC: What are you up to right now?
CL: I’ve just got a new studio, which is very exciting so getting that all kitted out.
JC: Have you had mentors along the way?
CL: BlinkArt, my agency are very helpful, they give great advice.
JC: Where are you based right now and how is it shaping you?
CL: In Hackney, London. It’s completely shaped my career. It’s fast moving, there’s so much going on and there are some very inspiring people to work with. It’s great.
JC: One piece of advice to photography graduates?
CL: Do lots of work experience.
JC: If all else fails - what is your plan B?
CL: There is no plan B.
JC: Is it important to you to be a part of a creative community?
CL: Yes, definitely. You’re only as good as the team you have around you.
